Our Story
Since 1997, The Garioch Fish Bar has proudly served Inverurie and the surrounding community with a commitment to quality, tradition, and unbeatable fish and chips. Back then, owner Murray was running three shops and a fish wholesale company, building strong industry connections and a reputation for doing things right.
But the path to success wasn't always smooth. In 2006, a devastating fire caused by a range malfunction destroyed the shop. Despite being let down by the insurance company, Murray pushed forward. By 2019, Garioch was his sole remaining shop β and after a mishap on the golf course that left him with three broken ribs, he had no choice but to ask 'The Glenzer' to step behind the fryer on a busy Friday night. That moment marked the beginning of a new chapter.
With all attention now on The Garioch Fish Bar, the team poured their energy into making it a true industry leader. And the results speak for themselves:

After 27 years in business, our suppliers know exactly what we expect β and they don't cut corners. In fact, they know better. If the produce doesn't meet our high standards, it comes straight back. We only use fresh fish delivered daily and potatoes that pass our in-house testing. If they're not perfect, they're not served.
LEARNING FROM THE BEST
Always looking to improve, Murray and Glen recently hit the road with industry leader Colin Cromar, visiting some of the UK's best chippies to learn, share ideas, and push standards even higher. The road trip took them to:
